10 reasons to have no fear in the ox year
1. The Ox wants to give you money.
The Ox year might as well be called the
money year! It corresponds to Taurus in the western zodiac,
which is the sign of money.
Real Estate and selling/buying other tangible
(and valuable) goods are favored pursuits in an Ox year. It
supports financial stability and growth and rewards honest,
methodical work.
However, the Ox would prefer you had a strong
vision and kept that in front of you as you worked diligently,
for love, not solely for money at a job you hate—and
certainly not out of fear.
2. The Ox favors long-term relationships
and commitments.
I have been telling people, most people,
to keep things light in the Rat year, to not get too serious
with any one person (although this is somewhat dependent on
the astrology of the person I’m speaking to). The Rat
can be a bit tricky when it comes to love and romance. Oftentimes,
someone may look like the right one, or say and do the right
things for a while, but it’s often best to wait for
the Ox to have the final say. Which leads me to the next point…
3. The Ox brings out honesty in people.
But if they are downright dishonest, the
Ox is good at helping one see through the b.s. It’s
much harder to lie with a straight face during the honest
Ox year. Chances are, the only way you’ll be taken in
is if you really want to believe what they’re trying
to pull over on you. Of course, it also helps if you are in
close touch with your intuition, which leads me to #4…
4. The Ox favors those who are grounded and
non-reactive.
In other words, if you maintain your inner
balance through meditation, yoga or other meditative activities
and operate from a place of inner balance throughout the day,
always returning to center when you find yourself straying,
you’ll be right at home in the Ox year.
The Ox prefers calm, peaceful individuals
over spastic stress-jobs any day.
Also, staying in close touch with your intuitional
guidance will be very helpful in the Ox year since your guidance
will instruct you to take risks when outside appearances may
tell you otherwise. The Ox year is a pretty conservative time
overall. You will see others behaving conservatively and in
many ways, doing so yourself will be to your benefit. But
if you are to really move ahead, this year or any year, you
will have to take risks. Your intuition will nudge you in
the right direction.
5. The Ox is visual. If you are a visualizer,
all the better for you.
Make a treasure map and use it to lead you
into meditative visualization. Create vivid, exciting pictures
of your intended reality. Let these pictures paint over the
appearances of today’s life and the things you have
focused on that you don’t want.
6. You can prosper doing creative work in
the Ox year.
As long as you’re diligent and take
it seriously as real work, rather than “just a hobby.”
As long as you believe it is possible to be successful and
hold the vision and intention to create success. The Ox loves
work, period. So, if you’re going to work, you might
as well use the Ox’s strength to work at what you love.
7. The Ox favors those who are organized
and prepared.
Even if this doesn’t seem like good
news to you given your current state of organization, the
Ox year is a good one in which to undertake organizational
tasks.
The Rat is, by nature, a bit of a hoarder.
The Ox likes to plow through the crud.
8. There will be a much more visible relationship
between work and reward in the Ox year.
I don’t know about you, but I worked
hard this (Rat) year. Yet, oftentimes I felt the work I did
just evaporated into thin air, netting me little or no reward.
At first, I figured this might be because I am a Rooster,
a sign that doesn’t always do its best in Rat years.
But, I’ve talked to others (including a few Rats and
Rat cronies) who felt this way as well this year.
The Ox year brings good news for hard workers.
Do the work (and have a little patience) and one way or another,
you will see rewards!
9. Things tend to return to their actual
values during the Ox year.
Again, the change may be slow in coming,
but we will be able to see this happening, in our personal
finances and in the world economy. Yes, there could still
be a few jolts, particularly at the beginning of the year,
but look for signs of settling down in the various markets.
10. If you’ve already used the Rat
year to set change in motion, the Ox will help you seal the
deal.
I mentioned this in my last article, How
to Create the Success You Want in 2009? Start Now! Simply
put, the Rat favors risk and change. The Ox likes to pick
up a task that has already been started. As I said before,
the Ox will reward your strong vision, dedication and diligent
work.
For the world as a whole right now, the
Ox year is just what the doctor ordered. Every once in a while
we get away from ourselves. An area of opportunity opens and
sometimes we, being only human, get a bit greedy. So everyone
tries to get in on that opportunity, sometimes regardless
of the cost. And in that moment, when we look to the external
thing to fulfill us, we lose the connection with our own truth.
This happens in finances as well as relationships. Whenever
there is a perceived scarcity, this happens. Whenever we allow
fear to become dominant, this happens.
I’m optimistic. The Rat year set some
interesting change in motion with the election of a new president.
The Ox year is about rolling up the sleeves and getting to
work, in a real and meaningful way. It’s a time to re-connect
with our true values and true selves. And that can only be
a good thing.
